SEMINARIUM WYDZIAŁU FIZYKI TECHNICZNEJ I MATEMATYKI STOSOWANEJ

6 listopada (piątek) o godz. 11:15 w sali 121 (GG)

prof. dr hab. Robert Alicki

Międzynarodowe Centrum Teorii Technologii Kwantowych

Uniwersytet Gdański

wygłosi wykład pt.: ”How does a solar cell really work?”.

Abstrakt:

Textbook descriptions of photovoltaic devices use stationary  models of electromotive force generation by a combined effect  of electrostatic and chemical potentials, sometimes accompanied by misterious mechanisms of "selective contacts". I am going to argue that this stationary picture is incorrect and solar cells possess "moving parts"  like all other engines. The experimental evidence for such dynamical picture is discussed. One should stress that the same criticism of the existing theories applies to electrochemical, thermoelectric and  fuel cells, and their biological counterparts, also.

Szczególnie zapraszamy do udziału pracowników i studentów związanych z tematyką referatu.

Serdecznie zapraszam!
