Four Swiss Government scholarships for Polish citizens

The Swiss government has organized four scholarships for Polish citizens for the academic year 2024/2025. The scholarship program includes research stays, doctoral studies and postdoc scholarships – each in any field of science.
The scholarship takes the form of:
  1. research stay – the condition is to obtain a master’s degree before July 31, 2024 (for candidates for ETH Zurich – June 30, 2024),
  2. doctoral studies for young (born after December 31, 1988) graduates of master’s studies – the condition is to obtain a master’s degree before July 31, 2024 (for candidates for ETH Zurich – June 30, 2024),

Summer school on Multiscale Methods

The Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics of Gdańsk Tech invites international students to the summer school on Multiscale Methods, organized within the ScienceApp project.

All Participants will receive a diploma certifying acquired skills and learning outcomes, and ECTS credits collected during the training that may be recognized by the home institution.

Next call for applications under Individual Research Studies and the RADIUM program

Radium Learning Through Research Programs
Individual Research Studies, hereafter referred to as ISB, enable the creation of individual training paths for the most talented second-level students in conjunction with their research under research projects.

Under the RADIUM Program, it is possible to obtain a university grant to finance the costs of ongoing research by second-level students in Individual Research Studies. 
The ISB and the RADIUM Program are part of the implementation of IDUB's tasks to improve the quality of education of students and doctoral students, especially in majors and scientific disciplines related to the university's priority research areas, Measure III.1. (Modification of the education system for first and second degree studies).

New Director of IN&ME - PhD, DSc, Eng. Jakub Karczewski, professor at Gdańsk Tech

On May the 1st, 2023, the position of director of the Institute of Nanotechnology and Materials Engineering was assumed by PhD, DSc, Eng. Jakub Karczewski, professor at Gdańsk Tech., after the resignation of Prof. Wojciech Sadowski, who had been heading the Department of Solid State Physics, transformed in September 2021 into the Institute of Nanotechnology and Materials Engineering, continuously since 1998.

Dr Jakub Karczewski graduated from the Faculty of Applied  Physics and Mathematics at the Gdańsk University of Technology. He received his master's degree in technical physics in 2006. Five years later – in 2011 – he obtained the degree of doctor of physical sciences. From 2022 he is a habilitated doctor in the field of natural sciences / physical sciences.

Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics of Gdańsk Tech invites international students to the intensive hybrid school on Molecular photosensitizers for solar energy conversion in the liquid phase: Theoretical and experimental methods to assess and optimize their properties (PHOTOMOL), organized within the ScienceApp project.

The event will be held this summer, between 26 June and 07 July, 2023.
