Dr. Agnieszka Bartłomiejczyk, Prof of GUT, the winner of the second edition of the URANIUM competition
Dr. Agnieszka Bartłomiejczyk, prof. of GUT, is the author and manager of a project promoting Gdańsk University of Technology among youth from secondary schools. The project "On a journey with mathematics and physics" received funding under the URANIUM SUPPORTING COOPERATION WITH HIGH SCHOOLS competition carried out by the IDUB program to improve the quality of education of students and doctoral students. After the substantive assessment of the Evaluation Committee, the application obtained the second place, scoring 97.7 out of 100 possible points.
The aim of the project "On a journey with mathematics and physics" is to encourage talented and ambitious high school students to undertake further education in the fields of study at the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics, as well as in fields related to the broadly understood applied sciences, in particular in the research area of the BioTechMed Center. By showing, already at the stage of high school education, the application of both sciences - mathematics and physics, in various areas of life, especially in biology and medicine, it is possible to arouse among students the need to further expand their knowledge of exact sciences and encourage them to choose polytechnic studies.
