French government scholarships for a research stay in France

SSHN scholarship program for a research stay in France
The SSHN scholarship is aimed at Polish and foreign researchers working in a Polish scientific institution who would like to conduct research in France. PhD students associated with a Polish institution, but not currently pursuing a doctorate in the cotutelle or codirection system with a French institution, may also apply for the scholarship. The scholarship is addressed to all scientists who wish to establish Polish-French cooperation.

Description of the scholarship program:

  1. Fields: all fields of science;
  2. Requirements: researchers with a doctoral degree or doctoral students not currently pursuing a doctorate under the cotutelle / codirection program with a French institution;
  3. Duration: from 1 to 3 months. The research visit must be carried out from February 1 to December 31, 2023;
  4. Scholarship amount: € 1704 (net) per month from the moment of arrival in France.

Application procedure:

Stage 1: Filling in the form and reading the Program regulations;

Stage 2: Sending the following application documents to the e-mail address provided in the advertisement, with "SSHN_name" in the subject of the e-mail and respecting the nomenclature indicated in parentheses for each document:

  • CV (CV_surname): maximum 2 pages in French or English,
  • Description of the research project (Description_surname): maximum 2 pages in French or English, including:
  1. research project plan,
  2. motivations to complete the research stay and expectations regarding the project implementation,
  3. will the project be implemented as part of the cooperation launched earlier between two research institutions? If so, which one?
  4. main stages of research work,
  5. what are the long-term prospects of research work? Is the cooperation planned to be continued after the research stay?
  • Invitation (Invitation_name): an invitation from a French research institute in French or English, containing the date of stay and the unit's logo,
  • Reference letter (Reference_name): reference letter from a Polish research institute in French or English.

Application deadline: 22th November, 2022.

Selection of candidates: Selection on the basis of the dossier is made by a team of experts of the Scientific and University Cooperation Department of the French Embassy in Poland. Laureates will be informed of the results in the first half of December.
