Scholarships to the USA – apply until May 26

The Polish-American Fulbright Commission invites to apply for the STEM Impact Award 2023-24 scholarship program. The application period lasts until May 26. Earlier, on Thursday, May 18, there will be an online information meeting for those interested in participating in the program.

Fulbright STEM Impact Award is a program for people managing research projects in STEM areas, employed in Polish academic and scientific institutions. The scholarship allows you to carry out a 2-6 week research and/or teaching project and to broaden your knowledge in the field of commercialization of science and effective writing of grant applications in institutions in the USA. The grant may be implemented at one host institution - an American university, non-profit research institute, non-governmental organization or other approved non-commercial institution in the USA.

Who can apply to participate in the program?

Applications for participation in the program may be submitted by persons who are Polish citizens, have at least a PhD degree and at least three years of experience in managing research projects and currently fulfilling such duties. The full list of criteria that must be met in order to apply for a scholarship can be found on the program website.

How long can you go?

Scholarships are offered for a period of 2 to 6 weeks. Projects lasting longer than 2 weeks are preferred. The scholarship may start in mid-February 2024 at the earliest and end on September 30, 2024 at the latest.

Application deadline

The deadline for submitting applications for the 2023-24 academic year is May 26, 2023 at 23:59 Polish time. Planned number of Fulbright STEM Impact Award Scholarships 2023-24: maximum 6.

How to submit applications

Submission of the scholarship application is done entirely electronically. A properly completed application consists of two forms: the application form and the supplementary form. The following documents should be attached to the applications: project statement, bibliography, an invitation from the host institution, CV, employment certificate, letters of recommendation and a form for research on organisms or biological material.

Before starting to fill in the application form, you should read the following documents: Regulations of scholarships awarded by the Polish-American Fulbright Commission to Polish citizens, Instructions for the application form, Privacy policy for the processing of personal data (all documents are available in Polish only).

Information meeting

Those interested in submitting an application may attend an information meeting on May 18 (Thursday) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the Zoom platform. During the given hours, you will be able to meet the program coordinator and ask questions about the program, the recruitment procedure and get tips on how to correctly fill in the application form.
