Joint research projects Poland-Germany | Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics at the Gdańsk University of Technology

The aim of the recruitment is to support the mobility of scientists carrying out research projects agreed and conducted jointly by eligible Applicants from Poland and partners from Germany.

Applications may be submitted by science and higher education institutions.

NAWA grants are intended to support the mobility of Polish-German research teams.

Rules of participation in the program:

• funds for Projects under the call for proposals are intended to cover the costs of travel and stays of scientists, with the exception of financing the research itself;
• research funding must be guaranteed from other sources;
• applications for a joint project must be submitted simultaneously by partners from Germany to DAAD and by Polish partners to NAWA. Only applications submitted jointly in Poland and Germany are considered;
• applications submitted in Poland and Germany should have the same title in English and the same implementation period;
• a coordinator in the Project may be a person with a minimum doctoral degree, employed by the Applicant;
• members of the research team may be members of the current research group of the Project coordinator, employed in his unit or other units forming the science and higher education system;
• students may also be members of the research team, as long as they take an active part in conducting research covered by the Project, and their participation is allowed by the partner country;
• the research project presented may concern all fields of science.

Project implementation period:

Projects submitted under the call for proposals may be implemented for a period of 12 or 24 months, in the period between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024.

Costs:

The maximum amount of financing of the Project from the NAWA budget is PLN 25,000. The above amount may be freely increased from the Applicant's own funds.

Each party covers the costs of travel and stay of scientists from their country.

As part of the funds granted by NAWA, eligible expenses on the Polish side are:

1. travel costs of Polish scientists to Germany - the maximum amount for one trip for one scientist is PLN 2,000,
2. costs of stay of Polish scientists in Germany:

• in the case of a stay of up to 12 days - PLN 350 per day,
• in the case of longer stays - PLN 4 200 per month, provided that the stay lasts over 12 days and a maximum of 30 days.

Call for proposals:

The call for proposals is open and lasts until June 30^th, 2022, at 15:00 CET.
