Division of Strongly Corelated Electronic Systems

Our team studies new materials that exhibit strong electron correlation.

We conduct synthesis and structural characterization of both intermetallic and oxide materials.  The samples we obtain are either polycrystalline or single crystals. Our main interests lie in superconductors, materials showing short- and long-range magnetic ordering, materials with charge density waves, and those that can be considered as quantum spin liquids. We work closely with theorists, crystallographers, solid state chemists to identify crystal structure and unravel the link between structure and observed physical properties.
