Professor Walther Herman Nernst award for Beata Bochentyn, PhD. D. Sc. Eng., Gdańsk Tech professor

Beata Bochentyn, PhD. D. Sc. Eng., Gdańsk Tech professor from the Institute of Nanotechnology and Materials Engineering received the prestigious Prof Walther Herman Nernst award for scientific achievements related to electrochemical processes.

The award was given for work on modifying commercial SOFC fuel cells to increase their long-term stability during direct biogas feed-in, and for developing a proprietary tool for comprehensive analysis of the dynamic internal biogas reforming process in SOFCs.

The gala ceremony was held on September 23, 2022. Since Professor Bochentyn was conducting research at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility ESRF in Grenoble at the time, the award was accepted on behalf of the awardee by the Vice-Rector for Organization and Development - Prof Dariusz Mikielewicz. The award was handed over to Professor Bochentyn by the Vice-Rector for Science - Prof Slawomir Milewski, during the ceremony of naming the CNA auditorium after Prof Olgierd Gzowski, on October 14.
