Justyna Szostak, PhD Eng, elected a Director in CESAER
The thirty-sixth ordinary CESAER General Assembly, hosted by Technische Universität Dresden, elected new members of the Board of Directors to serve from 2023 to 2025:
- Justyna Szostak (Chair of the Internationalization Committee of Gdańsk University of Technology),
- Toril Hernes (Vice-Rector for Innovation of Norwegian University of Science and Technology),
- Karine Samuel (Vice-President for International Affairs of Université Grenoble Alpes),
increasing gender parity and task force leadership in the Board.
“Academia is not only a place of research and education but also an environment shaping young people, societies, technological development, and the world around us. Thus, it is a great opportunity and honor for me to be elected to the Board to contribute to shaping our association”, said Justyna Szostak after the Assembly. Justyna Szostak, Ph.D. Eng., is an academic teacher, the Chair of the Internationalization Committee of Gdańsk Tech, and Dean’s Proxy for Internationalization at the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics. She is a co-chair of the Task Force Learning & Teaching responsible for the upcoming CESAER Student Challenge.
CESAER is a non-profit organization founded in 1990. Currently, it unites 57 leading European technical and comprehensive universities from 26 countries with a strong focus on science & technology. It gathers over 1 million students and almost 100,000 academic staff. CESAER is an acknowledged stakeholder organization working closely with many EU institutions, notably the European Commission, Parliament and Council. Together it has many thousands of EU-funded projects and has been awarded billions of Euros worth of European research funding. Gdańsk Tech joined CESAER in 2015, and is one of 3 Polish universities within this organization, next to Warsaw University of Technology, and Poznań University of Technology.
