Auditorium in Nanotechnology Center A named after Prof Olgierd Gzowski

On Friday, October 14, 2022, a ceremony was held to name the auditorium in Nanotechnology Center A after Prof Olgierd Gzowski.

Numerous guests arrived at the invitation of the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics, Professor Józef E. Sienkiewicz and the Director of the Institute of Nanotechnology and Materials and Engineering Professor Wojciech Sadowski. On behalf of the Rector of the Gdansk University of Technology, the event was attended by the Vice Rector for Science - Professor Sławomir Milewski. Professor Gzowski's long-time colleagues, as well as members of his family took part in the ceremony as well.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Director of the Institute, together with the Dean of the Faculty, shared memories of the late Professor with the gathered guests some. This trip back in time was followed by the unveiling of a glass memorial plaque naming the auditorium after Professor Olgierd Gzowski.

At the end of the ceremony, the Vice Rector for Science handed over the Prof W. H. Nernst Scientific Award to Professor Beata Bochentyn. This is an annual individual award given for significant scientific, technical and practical achievements related to electrochemical processes.
