The media's interest in the scientific view of football proves once again that physicists are needed even in sports, and that physical knowledge is important for football players.

With the World Cup underway, the eyes of the world are on Qatar. The performance of our national team is also looked at by physicists Prof. Beata Bochentyn and Prof. Aleksandra Mielewczyk-Gryń and they explain what went wrong in Robert Lewandowski's penalty kick, in our national team’s first match.

TVN asked for their comments and explanations for the main edition of their news show "Fakty" on November 25.

The next day, on a morning show on TVN24, Professor Aleksandra Mielewczyk Gryń continued the topic by giving more extensive explanations and explaining how sports issues look like through a physicist's eye.

In turn, on Monday, November 28, the professors visited Radio Gdansk, where the fascinating topic was continued in a live broadcast.
